Hi forum!
Quick question(I hope). I'm making a Mule and using a Lenovo S10 net-boot as
it's controller, currently I using it's internal battery to power the net-book. but because
I just added 120Ah the Mule can run longer the then the net-book, I would like to
power the net-book from the Mule's batteries(24Vdc 220Ah), the back of the net-book
list the input voltage at 20Vdc 2Amp. I'v checked online for more information on
the net-book, but can not fine detailed information on the Dc input(like Max/Min Vcc) of
the net-book.
If I had pockets full of cash I'd just try it because I'm sure id'd be fine, I can see with
a 20Vdc input i'd have a least a 36Vdc Max Vcc.
All this is IMO, lacking any PDF information thats all I got.
would you install a Voltage Regulator, or just Wire it up?.

I will use a switching Voltage Regulator.

I would probably regulate it. Cost of regulating it vs the cost of the netbook is probably insignificant.

Where do the 36V come from ???
24V battery, Netbook needing 20V/2A - A linear regulator would burn off up to ~8W (while the charging took place), a switcher would reduce this loss quite a bit, but in the scale of things, 8W isn't much, so I'd base it on your personal preference and what stuff you may have already.
