Hey peoples! OK, I want to make a robot for a science fair that has some sort of AI , at least enough to navigate around obstacles. I've never made a robot before, and I have practically no knowledge of the related topics. I am smart and willing to learn, so help of any kind is appreciated! Also, being in 7th grade I have NO source of income, so any tips on how to be super cheap on parts would help. Thanks for your time! Please help!

sounds like if you can get your parents to pony up $50, you got yourself a great solution... check out http://www.societyofrobots.com/step_by_step_robot.shtml

read alot of tutorials , read the forums a bit, etc. you'll learn alot with this alone :)
And then make the 50$ robot. That'll teach you another load of stuff...

I worked in my yard for money to build my robot parts. I made the chassis out of long, thin peices of wood for 25 cents each. I glued them usingwood glue and made small supports.
