Interfacing relay switch with RF receiver?
« on: April 08, 2011, 01:29:36 PM »
Hey, I was thinking about using a relay switch for something but I'm not exactly sure how to modify it so that I can hook it into the RF receiver.  Is it possible to interface a regular relay switch with RF without buying a set of RF relays?

You can use an R-C circuit to integrate the PWM signal (making it analog), and then a comparator (or a Schmitt trigger) to make sure it triggers at the point you want it to.

Ok, so if I did that, that circuit set up would act as a relay so I wouldn't need to actually use one correct?

You'd still want a relay (or a MOSFET) to switch higher currents - all that circuit does is convert the joystick position received to a binary on or off.
