Title: PC components?
Post by: R3831 on November 07, 2007, 02:52:58 AM
This might sound like a newbi question. I would like to know if it is possible to use components from old pc components like old screen cards, sound cards, ect.

That most likely won't work unless 1) you take individual parts from it (like resistors, capacitors, etc), but this is difficult because either they are surface mount or through hole, but either way it is probably not worth the time to do this... 2)you want to try to interface old computer parts to a microcontroller/computer w/ serial port...this works better with simple things like keyboards, mice, not sure if its possible to easily do with more complicated parts, especially old ones, although now there are SD card readers widely available
