Title: Not the robot but the real car,Raspberry Pi Remote Starting Toyota
Post by: kerrinal on June 13, 2013, 08:27:56 PM
Using a V2 Raspberry Pi from raspberrypi.org running WebioPi, connected to a wireless router, and a sainsmart relay board from ebay.com , I am now able to Remote Start my Toyota Tacoma from my Android phone using DrGPIO. Future plans are to add a HDMI toucchscreen, a media server application, setup rsync to a home server for automatic media synchronization, maybe a webcam to capture security footage in the event of truck tampering. Solar trickle charging to keep battery topped off. Email updates to phone of temperature inside truck, with automatic script to start truck and control the temperature inside. An alarm feature that will know my schedule and start truck before I have to go to work or class to warm and defrost as needed.
