Title: beam bot with out led?
Post by: fabz on August 13, 2012, 05:55:28 PM
Hi i'm looking to make a few little beam bot designs and was wondering if you can run them without the 3904 , 3906 , the resistor and the led?

I wonder this because i live in a small village that doesnt have a shop where you can just pick up these for next to nothing and i dont want to be spending 5-10 dollars in shipping...

so can anyone let me know if you can by pass the transistors(and led)?

greetings fabz

Others won't be able to tell you the answer for sure without seeing the electronic diagram that you're using.  I recommend linking to or posting that, if you can :)

The word "beam" in BEAM robotics is an acronym for Biology, Electronics, Aesthetics, and Mechanics.

Without the two transistors 2N3904, 2N3906, resistor and the flashing LED then it will be no Electronics and it not BEAM robot, the motor will not run at all.

but there is one more thing that i'm not sure about...

what capacitor do i need? because i got 16v3300µf i hope they are the right ones?

let me know
