On New Years Eve I was reviewing my life and seriously searching. i had this unfinished dream which had a peripheral requirement to understand how to control a servo. in my search i found the "50 dollar robot tutorial". Wow. This re-awakened my desire to understand electronics. since then my apartment has become 50 percent devoted to work space. i've broken one atmega8 (to be recovered once i get the right crystal), two 1 amp fuses, one led, and one seven segment display. but in those few months i've memorized 7805&317-based regulators, refined my soldering techniques, built an enviable prototyping workbench and had a hell of a lot of fun.

My room filled with bits and pieces where ever I can find space, with a bed shoved on the corner :D

Yes, it's been at least 24 days. I am, I admit, one of those folk who only comes to the forum when he seeks an answer, seldom to answer questions. But to just tidy this link off, I came back to fully thank admin for Jan 1 2011. I am currently enrolled in distance education for electronics tech at 100% score with 5 of 24 modules done. I haven't built anything remotely robotic in some time but that is not due to lack of interest, contrarily, it's because I have been focused on building a sound understanding of what I want to build (and getting a bit lost GLADLY in it). I recently emulated a 4017 counter with transistors (i have a very large breadboard :).
I put to paper a 24 hour clock without an ic. I figured out how a vacuum florescent display from an old 1972 handheld calculator could be driven. i could NEVER have figured this out without the inspiration of the "cardboard works for wheels" try it thinking.
Society of Robots will never know how it has given me
('cause i am lame at giving back)...

so true =/
every couple of months or so i find courage to to spend hours clean my room ( driven by freaky comments by friends ofc) , just to mess it up again in a couple of days .... because its so annoying when i can't find some tool/IC , i guess i like my room messed up.... This might change though if i get a job, cause most industries go super crazy for 5-S. =/ ( not against it , cause it does increases productivity)
