i have been looking around the website and i am a beginner with robotics, and electrical circuitry. I was wondering what type of wire to use for the circuit board.

Mostly 20-24awg low-voltage , but it depends on the draw and solid or stranded.
Look at the Amps = draw. Some motors draw higher amps, thus thicker cable.
