Title: $50 robot programming.
Post by: noob on May 05, 2008, 11:11:11 AM
At the part where you enter the hex file under the flash i enter the Hold_zero.hex file and hit program. It comes with an error that says "no target was detected. Ensure that target has power". There is also a green light inside the programmer and a red light outside of it(I have the newer one). The power supply if connected and i am pretty sure that i got the wiring correct. I unplugged the programmer and plugged it back in and the servos moved, so some thing has to be right. I have no idea how to fix the problem. Thanks in advance for any help.

Also if it isn't clear i am a complete noob and this is my first attempt at anything like this so small words would be appreciated.

Glad to see that in the 4 hours between your posts that you managed to sort out your own problem. Well done!!

So for the benefit of other people who may search this forum:-

1. What was causing your problem

2. How did you discover what the problem was

3. How did you fix it.

The 4 hours you spent could save 20 people 4 hours each !!

I fix the orange light problem by updating. to do this pop in the CD and open the AVR programmer (the blue box thing) page and then open the page that shows all the problems that may happen, from that page I found that I needed to update the AVR programmer cord box. And to do this just tap the update butten after you found the problem, the CD will tell the AVR programmer what to do.

But I need help with my programmer problem tho, its listed above.
