Title: lego mindstorm kits
Post by: trickyotool on May 26, 2008, 04:39:50 PM
hi

I was the one who added the help with my RC robot page. i do still plan to build that but in the mean time i thought i would let you i brought a Lego mindstorm NXT kit. after building all 4 of there suggested robots i have to say this kit is well worth the money for any begging robot enthusiast. i have now brought the lego technic combine harvester which i plan to add the NXT brick to and the motors. cant wait to have a little autonomous combine harvester roaming around. if anyone else has anything to say about the NXT kit or models you built i would love to hear it.

p.s. do any of you know where you can enter competitions in the uk. i know there is the FLL but i cant enter that i am too old  :'(

NXT is good  start but its definitely not the real deal ... it will give you some background but some day you;ll need to make the move to real robotics

i plan to move onto real robots. I already got planned that RC robot and after that i was going to make a real autonomous robot. This was just a relatively cheap set which i could get started on with no complicated wires, parts and and electronics to worry about. Also to make an autonomous robot you need the micro controller complier and the lead that alone could come to the same price as the NXT kit.
