The microcontroller im about to buy has the following things.im making a four wheeled thingy -which "does not barely commit suicide by driving of the table".i want it for future modification and make a more advanced and expensive robot.are these feautures enough?? or do i need more?  plz let me know .

here are the specifications

Advanced RISC Architecture
Up to 16 MIPS Throughput at 16 MHz
64K Bytes of In-System Self-Programmable Flash
8K Bytes RAM
4K Byte Internal SRAM
86 Programmable I/O Lines arranged in nine 8 bit ports
In-System Programming by On-chip Boot Program
JTAG
16-channel, 10-bit ADC
Two 8-bit Timer/Counters with Separate Prescalers and Compare Modes
Four 16-bit Timer/Counter with Separate Prescaler, Compare Mode, and Capture
Real Time Counter with Separate Oscillator
Twelve 16 bit and Four 8 bit PWM Channels,
Four Programmable Serial USART
Eight external interrupts
Master/Slave SPI Serial Interface
Byte-oriented Two-wire Serial Interface
Programmable Watchdog Timer with Separate On-chip Oscillator

This is the same chip (the 640) used on the Axon which admin sells here (click Axon MCU on main site).

I'm not sure about the connection setup of the dev board, somebody more experienced might have some thoughts.

That's a lot of features, you could probably get away with much less though I'm sure they wouldn't go to waste if you've bigger plans for it in the future. What price is it?

Hi,

Not trying to rain on your parade, but it sounds like you are gonna just buy the microcontroller chip, so just in case, you should be aware that a 100 pin TQFP package might be a little out of your league to solder.

You might wanna start with a DIP-40... And you can get more power in a DIP-40 than you'll need for the first couple of years.

its 40 dollars minus shipping

If it's that whole development board from your link I think that's pretty good value. Plenty of scope for experimenting on there.
