« on: November 18, 2008, 04:18:29 PM »
What I mean is:
Can i get it to stay bent in a halfpipe like shape??
Or is there a better material that's about as cheap??

Anyone even tried this yet??

You'll have to warm a sheet of hdpe up then lay it across an existing halp pipe shape. When it cools down it will stay in that shape. There are a few instructables (instructables.com) about moulding hdpe

HDPE might release toxic gases when heated, so do it in a well ventilated area.
Robots are awesome!

HDPE resists bending, and is damaged if forcefully/mechanical bent. Thin sheets will bend much better.
