Title: help identify this Maxon motor

There are tons of ultra cheap DC motors over here in Bangkok. One particular that caught my attention was this Maxon (good brand name) DC motor with a built in gear head. I forgot the price, but I think it was like $6 each or something like that. The seller claimed 59 rpm.

The problem is I can't find specs.

Written on the motor:
maxon DC motor
139885
swiss made
V 03
P/N 323224

anyone familiar with it?

According to this page (http://detail.china.alibaba.com/buyer/offerdetail/243459016.html), its 180 rpm and .02 kW . . .

Wow they are pretty small.

Why are they so cheap in bangkok?

What about the bigger models like the RE and EC, are they cheaper in bangkok as well?

I went back about 14 months ago, and they were no longer so cheap.

The US is waging 'currency warfare' because of China, which basically means reducing the value of the US dollar. As such, the reduced currency exchange rate has increased the prices of the motors to the same as that in the US  :'(

Yea, that post was 3 years old and I couldn't find anything online at the time . . . they look like a good deal! I think they were $15+ the last time I saw them, if I remember right . . .

Now if only I had a project to use them on . . .

Oooo... oooooo.... OOOOOO have some kind of contest and give them away!   ;) ;)  You probably can't anyway since (I'm guessing) you were funded to buy them, so that'd be bad use of money that's not yours?  lol
