How many motors?

(1/1)

silo_xtreme:
Hi everyone.

Just a simple question.  Do you find it more economical to use 2 motors or 4 motors when attempting to reach a certain torque limit?

I'm defining economical as:  less money, less weight, less current usage, more torque.

hey guys, i'm new at this but with my limited experience i think that 2 motors is better. mostly because it does cost less and to make up for the lost torque use a caster wheel for the front. Also try modified servos, they help alot too, but thats off topic, try using small wheels too, that means less weight and more torque.

Admin:
It entirely depends on the motors you can find, the prices they are sold for, and your required torque/rpm/size constraints.

Basically, to answer your question, you need to design both systems then ask which is better to build.
