Title: mounting servo to intelligent wheel
Post by: nickygriff on October 28, 2010, 08:00:33 AM
Im in the process of designing a 3 wheeled robot. The rear 2 wheels are providing torque, and the front wheel provides steering. The front wheel is mounted infront of the rest of the robot, and I was wondering if I could still attatch it to a servo, and if so, how??

thanks,
Nickie

Yes - think of it like how motorcycles steer. The front wheel is far in front of the motorcycle, but the handlebars (where the servo can be attached) is towards the rear.

How big is your robot I have built a three wheeled robot using a car electric window motor and gear to steer it but I don't know the scale your working with.
