fast stair climbing RC robot

This bugger is really fast up the stairs . . . I think the 'secret' to why it works so well is the articulated chassis, allowing the weight to shift adaptively.

Yes, but not as well and not as high of steps (or obstacles).  It is a basic cockroach design, shorter front segment capable of pivoting up and down, longer back segment for stability during the lifting.

True this robot has been designed for this obstacle, and for this obstacle only.
On normal stairs it would have to be higher, thus longer, but then it wouldn't have enough horizontal ground to get it's stability from.

Nice job though.

It's nice and all, but I'm not seeing whats so special about this. It's wired controlled and goes up some stairs, am I missing something in the video?
