Title: Help LFM motor rotation
Post by: rcmel on March 10, 2013, 08:13:28 AM
hi here's my simulation in proteus. . why the two motors are spinning in the same direction counter clockwise?
isn't when you want to move the mobot forward the one motor must turn in clockwise and the other is in counter clockwise..

Can you disconnect one of the motors, rotate it 180 degrees so the Green tag appears to the left on one motor and re connect the leads?

DC  Motors are polarity sensitive  with regards to rotational direction.
If the leads on the motor are say Blue and Red,

If you connect + to Red and - to Blue, the motor will rotate clockwise.

If you connect + to Blue, and - to Red, the motor will now turn Counter clockwise.

i used this type of motor for my LFM the problem is, it spins faster when i don't put load.. but when i put the load it don't produce enough power to spin the wheels?

and i notice that when i connect the motor in reverse polarity the motor will not spin faster compare to the normal connection motor.. thanks..

Maybe a better battery would be needed. Your battery delivers how many volts, how many amperes?

The picture of the motor does not show the size, so it is hard to guess how strong it is.

Can you tell how much load you have? Giving the weight of the vehicle could give us an idea.

That motor does not have a gear reduction and thus very little torque and can not drive a wheel.
You need to add a speed reduction between the motor and the wheels or get a different motor that has a built in gear box.

Did you try directly connecting the battery to the motor is both polarities?
Does it appear to spin at the same speed in both directions?

What is the Voltage at the motor terminals?
