Title: Hans Christian Ørsted's birthday is today
Post by: Admin on August 14, 2009, 08:47:19 AM
A not so celebrated 18/19th century scientist had his birthday today.

He was the first to produce aluminum, and the first to experimentally show that electricity and magnetism are connected. Try making robots without either discovery!

Hi,

Yes, every Dane know this Hans Christian, as well as the Andersen variety ;D

Ever heard of http://web.dmi.dk/projects/oersted/ (http://web.dmi.dk/projects/oersted/)?
Some of it was build (not by me though) at our electronics club at DTU (Danish University on Technology) - a club for electronics engineering students as well as former students (i.e. engineers).
