Is it possible to make a dog walking bot? What info do I need to accomplish this?
  Thanks all :)

I think that it would only be feasible with very tiny dogs. Any thing bigger than a chihuahua with a good size bot would just drag the bot around. I have some small size dogs give me a pretty good pull and Im 200 pounds. Even a well trained dog could take off after a squirrel. So I think that would be the main issue you would have to overcome, the ability to restrain the dog at his max pull.
If your first post is, "I want to build a super complex robot with object recognition, etc..but I have never done programming or electronics...etc."
Your doing it wrong. Start Simple and Work Up.

That's why I wanted to do it, my dog doesn't heel very well. Sounds like he would be too big to do it with. He is 70 lbs. I was wondering what I could do to figure out how to keep the dog from jerking it around. Sounds to advanced for me at this time though.  Thanks for your input and verifying about the jerking around.

Sounds like you need to train the human!

I found that watching the Ceasar Milan "Dog Whisperer" program and actually applying dog leadership (don't let the dog walk ahead of you; don't be impatient; etc) worked for our 70 pound dog.

I feel like this is a stupid question...but ill ask anyway! Do you need internet access to do programming? I have a computer but no internet on it. I use the internet on my phone.

You do not NEED internet access to do programming.

However, all the tools you will need are typically downloaded, and all of the help files and references you will want to read are typically on the internet.

If you can download the tools somewhere else, such as at the library, and transfer them with a USB key, then you can program on a non-internet-connected computer. If you need to look something up, use the phone.
