I am currently building an automatic control of industrial manipulator, which is why I want a diagram of a typical robotic arm with the mechanical characteristics (mass, size ...)
-
Well a typical industrial arm is anywhere from very small to fricking huge. Typically their size and mechanical characteristics are determined by what they will be doing.
-
SoR has some good tutorials on robot arms.

read the tutorials, google robot arm kits, look around, lots of people are doing the same thing.
