no it's controlled by the atmega 8  chip.

It could be IR RC easily. All you need is a Panasonic PNA4602 IR sensor and a Universal remote controll, tuned for Sony TV.
Check out the uBotino robot controller!

imho it's better to read and research a little before asking (possibly dumb) questions about sometmhing.

I think he means that He is new to the field of robotics?

But yes, do at least a little bit of research before you ask a question like that. Use logic and such. If you skimmed through the tutorial, you would know that it was autonomous. However, if you build it, as mentioned above, it wouldnt be the hardest thing to convert to RC...

The $50 Robot is not RC . . . it has a microcontroller and can be programmed.

however, to test out my robot stampy, I temporarily made it RC (which possibly confused you). see the video at the very very bottom on this page:
