I've seen a few threads where folks are looking to buy or sell robot parts. We have some spare parts that were purchased for earlier robot designs but never used, e.g. Devantech SFR-04 ultrasound modules and Robson compass modules, and while we've donated a lot to the local college robot club, I wouldn't mind having a place to offer some stuff for sale.

can u donate some to me aswell? :) :) :)

donate to the CMU Robotics Club ;D

a lot of big name sponsors donate to them, and they are directly connected to the CMU Robotics Institute (the largest robotics research facility in the world - in both people and number of projects)
this is where i learned to build robots ;D

or u can donate to me - a new robot builder who has a really tight budget.

or me.

Hmmm... tough decision. Obviosly you're gonna donate to the youngst and tightest budget, me! :D
Do you have any microcontrollers? programmers? I may buy smthin.. Maybe a few nimh battery packs or some wheels, etc..

I have 4 NewMicro TinyARM2138 processors cards, at least 10 Devantech SFR-04 ultrasonic rangers, an assortment of Robson compasses, some Tamiya tread kits, a variety of battery pack chargers, and probably a lot more that I haven't thought of. I've already donated a lot to the local college robotics club, but would rather sell this stuff to fund other purchases. I was hoping that Admin might consider creating a new buy/sell/trade category for these types of listings.

You definitely have a few items I would be interested in... can you list everything you want to sell... how about creating an e-bay store?
-
I'd be interested in video cameras and linux-supported video capture card(s)... If anyone has that ;)

Ill think about this for a bit. I might combine it with a seller advertisements category, too. Any other thoughts on how I can do this more effectively?

My inclination would be to keep forum member listings separate from any paid advertising, though you could flag sponsor listings that appear in the same section as paid. Think of this as a "Craig's List" for robot parts.
