hey
i was wonder the max volatge the 5V Linear Regulator can take
i already read the spec sheet
-
word around the forum is 35 v
-
so it'll take 35v and make it 5v
-
just dont touch it ;D
-
so it'll take 35v and make it 5v
yeah. and 30v will be turned into heat

AKA, thats so inefficient, its pretty much not worth it... not to mention youll need a huge heat sink on the VReg if you run 30 volts through it to get 5 out of it. Invest in a switching regulator.

Learn to read the datasheet better.
and wasting that much energy is ridiculous.
