Title: Really Stupid/Newbie Question!
Post by: rmore on July 24, 2012, 04:31:17 PM
Hi All,

I am embarrassed to ask this question. But I have been trying for long to post pictures in my posts on here and I am have not been successful.

I tried to use the 'image' button above and what came on the screen was:

'img' in square brackets, followed by [\img]. So I put the path to my picture between the two img text (this picture is on my C drive) but it did not show up in the preview.
I was told that that img option can be used with only pictures on the internet.

Please tell me how to embed images in our posts on here.

Thank you.

Hi,

To embed images, you first need to upload them to a web server, as they have to be present each time a request is made (a page containing the image is shown).
If you have a web site, you can store the images there, if not, services like Photobucket or similar can be used.

If the file only exist on your local hard drive, you can use the attachment function (Click on the link under the text field and browse your way to the file). This will upload the file to the SoR server and place a miniature and a link after your text.
