Autodesk Inventor

For all you students out there  ;)
Autodesk is offering a 3 year trial for students on all of their software including Inventor which after using for just a week I highly recommend.
This is fantastic for anyone with a tiny budget such as myself

It's a CAD software, similar to SolidWorks, Autocad, CATIA, etc.

Yeah Inventor took an hour and a half to download (3 Gb) and then at least 2 hours to install its over 10 gb of files.  :o

Don't install Vault or AutoCAD 2D, you won't need that. That'll cut down many GBs.

Yeah I didn't install vault but 2D I have found useful in the past for simple templates.  :)

AutoDesk Inventor 3D has a much nicer 2D plotting program. Go to File->New->Drawing, then place a 3D model in there.

I love this offer; I've been using a lot of Autodesk products because of it.  However, I never really see any companies using Inventor, usually Solidworks, which unfortunately is still pretty expensive for the student version.  Oh well, guess I'll keep trying to learn both.  Has anyone had any good experiences with the Autodesk CFD package?
