Title: Alternative to PVC Frame
Post by: SeagullOne on September 04, 2007, 02:07:02 PM
Hello.

Does anyone know a good alternative to PVC plastic for use in robots? I was originally considering using it in the frame for my project since its very durable and workable, but I hear to contains toxic materials and a lot of big organizations like Honda and Microsoft are disusing it. It looks like a lot of robot shops like Jameco robot shop are discontinuing their PVC products as well (was on the phone with them today). Does anyone know where I can find some good sheet, rod, and tube plastic that's still durable and workable, without having it being PVC?
Thanks.

Go to mcmaster.com and type in 'plastic' at the top left search bar :P

My favorites are HDPE, acrylic, and delrin.
