common ground Lipo/NIMH
« on: May 07, 2010, 02:58:47 PM »
Simple question; I was just wondering if there is any problem with having a common ground between a Lipo battey and a NIMH Battery.  I'm using NIMH for the motors in a Diff drive and Lipo for servos in an arm.
Thanks

Hi,

None at all.
Regards,
Søren

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?
Please remember...

Actually you'd have a problem if there *wasn't* a common ground in your system :P

(there are some exceptions, but I'm assuming one battery is for a mcu and the other for everything else)
