Email address not hidden
« on: November 06, 2008, 01:03:34 PM »
In my profile, I checked "Hide email address from public", but in all my posts, there is an email icon that contains my email address. I don't mind this group knowing my email address, but spammers mine forums for email addresses. Please fix this if possible.

Thanks,

Matt

Sorry, this may be a false alarm. I may be seeing the email icon because it knows it is me and not "the public". Can someone verify if you see an email icon on this post?

If this were malfunctioning, Admin (probably) wouldn't be able to handle this, because forum software isn't written by the consumer.
It's like you probably can't fix a bug in MS word...

anyway,
you can see that icon because it's your own email adress. I think.
I can't see the icon in your profile anyway.

because forum software isn't written by the consumer

simple machines forum is written "by the consumer", with a very active developers community. plus, it's open source. get the code, fix the bug, and it's running (no compliation needed, since php is interpreted).
please don't compare it to a m$ product.
