Title: Hi, Got a good idea
Post by: spykid99 on November 24, 2008, 03:33:04 AM
Hi, (This is my first post by the way)I just started robotics and i haven't built a robot yet but my head is crawling with ideas that i have

1. My first robot is going to be a BEAM Mini Sumo from the book Junkbots, Bugbots and Bots on Wheels anybody read it?

2. My idea is a computer controlled flying robot that will be tele-operated (I,ve read the post about the automonus flying robot indoors) and connected to my computer via (Unknown Any Ideas?) it would have terrain mapping lasers, radar, GPS and other cool things but i know now that that would be V10 or something.

Any ideas about it or info i should know

Yours Sincerly

P.S (I,ve read 3/4 of the SoR website)

You're first robot should be as simple as possible (don't expect to build expert level robots on your first attempt :P)

Would be good if you buy a RC helicopter first and learn to fly that manually using RC. It is impossible to build an autonomous UAV without knowing how to fly one manually. Just imagine if you have one simple mistake in your code that makes it drift upwards, and you cant do anything to stop it!

Hi thanks for all your posts i haven't been online for a while since i have had school ending and things
I have no intention of actually building this robot it was purely an idea for builders with NASA type budgets but i will refine on it a bit more
It was to be interfaced via satellite to a computer and controlled possibly by a joystick or alternatively via a on-computer GPS location system where i would click on a google earth type map and the computer would locate and tell the UAV what to do

If you want to talk more about this feel free to PM me
