how much range do you need? Try this circuit:

about 100 feet
-
then that circuit is perfect for you
-
is it possible to hack a walky talky to a pair of ear phones
-
yeah, plug the ear phones into the side audio jack :P
What do you mean? As in get the transmit and receive circuit to be that small? Or just make it so you can hear it only in your ear?
If thats the case then yes. Quite easily. All you have to do is de-solder the internal speaker wires, then solder a standard 3.5mm female jack into it thenget any old pair of head phones and plug them into the jack you just soldered in. Most walkie talkies will have a headphone jack already on the side of them.

okay thanks
i was using cheap toy walky talkys so they didn't have a head phone jack
also is there a way to help reduce interference on chap toy walky talkys

If you mean reduce the white noise, then probably not. This is because they used cheap electronic components to make it. It would be just as easy to make your own as it would be to replace the components.
