DSO nano - the pocket size digital storage oscilloscope
« on: January 06, 2010, 10:07:04 AM »
Found this today . . . only $89! On first glance it looks really good. Anyone tried it out?

I have been thinking about buying this one, or the kit from sparkfun. There are videos of the sparkfun one running, but none of this one, so i am doubtful on how well this one works.

It looks good for what it can do. Look at the specs:
Analog bandwidth   0 - 1MHz
Max sample rate   1Msps 12Bits
Sample memory depth   4096 Point
Horizontal sensitivity   1uS/Div~10S/Div (1-2-5 Step)
Horizontal position    adjustable with indicator
Vertical sensitivity    10mV/Div~10V/Div (with ×1 probe)
   0.5V/Div~10V/Div (with ×10 probe)

It ok for slow digital (<200kHz) or for audio bandwidths and largish amplitude signals.

it's better then my portable scope. considering my scope is about 30 years old i'd say that's likely.

Hi,

I have to seriously doubt a 1MHz bandwidth with a max. sample rate of 1Msamples/s!

Actually not, unless it's just for well behaved signals. A 200kHz digital signal still needs a fast 'scope to check the transitions.

And it's really not very sensitive, but for a tertiary toy or your first 'scope on a tight budget, I guess it has got its niches.

Søren
