Shaft Extension for Wheelchair Motors

I need to make the shaft on a couple of wheelchair motors longer, they have key seats on the shafts so I'm thinking of getting a couple of woodruff keys and using these:
http://www.thebigbearingstore.com/servlet/the-1526/1-fdsh-2%22-Keyed-Shaft-Coupler/Detail
along with some key stock, to attach this
http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/shafts_keyed_main.html
and then use these:

to reinforce the keyed shaft. There will be ~60 lbs on the shafts, so do you think this will work?

I'm not sure what you mean by "reinforce" the keyed shaft. If you use 2 bearings on the keyed shaft which completely support the load, you'll be fine. Just be sure you don't transmit any radial force to the shaft coupling. It cannont take it.

By "reinforce" I did mean "support the load". Thanks for the help.
