Post by: SgtToad on March 13, 2008, 08:57:25 AM
I found this module : http://www.sonmicro.com/shop/shop3.php?current=32 (http://www.sonmicro.com/shop/shop3.php?current=32)

I want to know if someone already use it ? and if it does the job ?

Keep in mind the fact that 2.4 GHz is shared with microwave ovens, wireless phones, video transmitters, 802.11, and new things we don't know about yet. Expect interference.

I want to do wireless data logging from the 50$ robot less than 150 feet range. I find bluetooth and zigbee expensive.

Very second sentence:

SMW240 is designed for short range (50 meters) RF communication applications with up to 62.5 kbits/sec data rate.

But it will work with the $50 Robot without effort:

SMW240 has UART interface to communicate with the external peripheral.
