RCA connection to screen?
« on: October 26, 2010, 06:01:56 PM »
I've got a touch screen and a small camera with an RCA connection.  I want to be able to connect the two together so that I can stream the pics onto the screen.  Here is what I have:

http://www.4dsystems.com.au/prod.php?id=116
http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8739

I've posted in the 4dsystems forum but the moderators there said that there is no(easy) way to do it and that I should use one of theirs.  Don't know if its true or if they're just trying to get me to purchase another camera.

Thanks!

Do you honestly think they'd stay in business if they tried to scam customers that way?

Just the fact that you have to ask, tells me that you know close to nothing on how each of the devices work. And that tells me, that I have to give you the same message as the moderators.

You need to split up an analog composite video signal and turn it into digital (single) bits and then transmit it to the digital comms of the screen.

You could always sell of the cam you have, or reserve it for something else.

Søren

Yes, I'm sure every representative at every establishment is completely honest.  I was just trying to get a second opinion.  You never know, someone here might know a good way to do it.  And you are right, I know very little about these devices, which would be why I am asking.  I do appreciate you answering but you don't have to be a jerk about it.
