NXT manual control
« on: January 18, 2007, 01:16:08 PM »
hi .. i've just started using the lego NXT mindstorm. I've programmed it using RobotC. I wanted to know if I can manually control the NXT thru a host computer . I do not want to control a car which the bricxcc does . I wanted actual control over the degrees the motor rotates .

There is a new "dashboard" application for the PC end whichmay give you control you want, you can download it from
http://robodna.com/roboDNA/

or there is also Microsoft robotics studio which allows to monitor state and contol the NXT over bluetooth
http://msdn.microsoft.com/robotics/

I haven't tried either of them out but my guess would be that the RoboDNA application would be easier to use straight away but but MRS will be a more powerful tool in the long run (my NXT is still in the box crying out to be connected to something)

Hope this is of help :)
