Hi,

You'll have to be a bit more precise!
An alarm is something that draw peoples attention to something, whether it's something that's too: Hot, cold, wet, dry, light, dark etc.

What condition do you need the alarm for?
Regards,
Søren

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?

Without knowing how experience you are, It might be easier if you start with the most simple alarm.

I use two simple one in my workshop.

     1.  Control Relay, Buzzer(electronic schime), switch magnet for house alarm; and

     2.  Similar but with resistors, diode and SCR.

Don't have a schematic but can easily draw it with explanations

More info plox.
What should set off this alarm? Just saying "burglar alarm" is a very vague term and could mean thousands of things.
Howdy

yyy:  As I promised, this one is easy.

     You only require:
          - Electric chime ( Radioshack);
          - 1KOhms resistors X2;
          - Control Relay;
          - Green and Red LED; and
          - Magnetic switch.

The schematic and picture should be worth a thousand words.  This is a start and get your imagination to make modification i.e. sensors, wireless.

I should say thank you.  I now got my two kids with a new toy to play with.   ;)

I get B minus with the schematic done by hand but did not find a good software yet.

Soeren:   :D  Love that link.
