« on: September 28, 2011, 10:02:09 PM »

Hello

Does anyone know if there is a maximum current that a 12A sabertooth dual motor driver can take from a 24 volt battery

Thanks for any response

Only those who can read  ;D

New model:
Specifications:
Up to 18V in: 12A continuous, 25A peak per channel.
24V in: 12A continuous, 25A peak per channel

Old model:
Specifications:
Up to 18V in: 10A continuous, 15A peak per channel.
24V in: 8A continuous, 10A continuous with additional heatsinking/airflow, 15A peak per channel.

Søren

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?

It takes as much current as it as it outputs to motors, limitations are as Soeren pointed out, plus up to couple of hundred milliamps to drive its electronics.
