Somebody to take care of spam bots when admin's not online for instance...

I'm going to be changing the backend code to secure the forum against bots. I recently found 600 bot member accounts I had to delete.

Well, lets hope the forum change stops the bots :D

Whatever does the trick is fine with me.
There is nothing more annoying than bots. (Despite this being a robot forum)

I guess I'm glad I post enough that my account is not considered to be a bot. ;D

80% of bot accounts have zero posts. They just create a profile and put a spam link into it. Another 15% just do one post.
(useless information, I know)

It's the ones that post the same thing over and over that really mess up the system.

My only argument in favor of another set of eyes to help out Admin is not because of spam, but to help enforce some forum etiquette.
For example (and sorry to call someone out), this user: Hasan999
has made three threads all about the same topic:

Yes, but by looking at the forum, i'd say its not dying yet. Admin is doing an excellent job of moderating on this forum.
If we just do our part and tell the person what they did and if they do it again, report the post, easy!
Admin doesn't really need a moderator, a moderators position is a big responsibility, the trust that he would need from you would be immense.
Plus hes doing a damn good job as it is moderating the forum on his own.

I never said I agree completely we need a mod, i just stated the only reason i could come up with in favor of one.
Also, i forgot about the report this post. I will start using that in the future.

Remember to be sensitive though, we don't want to scare beginners away. :P
