Title: Li-polymer battery recommendation
Post by: alucard on February 28, 2012, 10:24:57 PM
Hi all,

I am looking at http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10472 (http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10472) which is a Li-ion polymer dual cell battery with 7.4 V and 1000 mAh. This suits me as I require a high discharge rate, at least 7 V and light weight

However, the charger for it is http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10473 (http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10473)  and costs $32 which is a bit steep.

Does anyone know of a cheaper charger for a dual-cell Li-polymer?

Thanks a lot!

$32 for charger and balancer able to charge cells of different chemistries is not much at all  :)

You may want to check out this: http://www.dfrobot.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=70&product_id=489 (http://www.dfrobot.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=70&product_id=489)

I'm using it on my robot to power the Arduino & other electronics. It has onboard charging electronics so no need for a special charger.
