Title: water-proofing servo problems
Post by: greydaisy on June 30, 2011, 12:36:13 PM
I'm a complete beginner to working with servos, I tried waterproofing my hitec HS 82mg using the method shown in Admins video (applying silicone sealant to one part, and oil to the gear serction) but after drying my servo doesn't seem to work properly, it is 'spasm-ing'... - any ideas or suggestions as to what might gone wrong and how I could fix it?
Many thanks

There are many reasons a servo can spasm, such as low battery voltage, noise, servo wire extenders, a poor signal, etc. Try to debug it as such, first.

There is also the chance you used RTV (the silicon sealant) that wasn't electronics grade, and it's corroding your electronics.
