Over center device

Hello gang! New guy here. I'm needing to source a device that I seem to remember existing, I just can't find it. I have a sliding plate that needs to activate a small glass plate by rotating it 45 degrees. The glass plate is hinged at the top and I'm thinking a device I used to call a Over-Center-Spring would do the trick. The glass plate needs to stay in the 45 degree angled position and when the sliding metal plate engages it, it needs to move to the zero degree or vertical position. Any brainy engineer types in the crowd know about this over center device? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Hi,
I don't think it's a certified name (I could be wrong though), so if you have drawings or pics of what you want to do, perhaps someone will have suggestions.
Is it just some kind of spring you need, or am I missing something?

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?
Please remember...
