Title: Sabertooth Connecting Ports
Post by: moltrex84 on September 10, 2010, 08:18:47 AM
Hello,

I have a sabertooh and I'm following the tank control example to be tested in a axon2 ...

I tried yesterday and it was not a successful, I used UART 0 and connect transmitter in S1 and receiver in S2, both ground connected. I used a simple serial connection … I need help.

Which configuration should I use for this.

1-   Which Port in the microcontroller ???  UART 0 ??? What baud rate if need it ??
2-   Which configuration in the Motor drive ??? Simple serilazed ???
3-   Which Port in the Sabertooth S1 and S2 or only S1 ???

Help will be gladly accepted … I will post a cool video of what I’m doing if I get this solve …

Thanks,

You can make life easier for yourself by using my Project Designer http://www.webbot.org.uk/iPoint/37.page (http://www.webbot.org.uk/iPoint/37.page)

This lets you configure the device and shows how to connect it and what DIP switch settings need to be done

And in case you haven't used it before....

Axon 2, Webbotlib and Project Designer Tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPhMES0PFEw#ws)

Did you get it to work?

(I also recommend using WebbotLib - makes things much easier)

You can use any UART port you want. The baud rate must match that defined in the Sabertooth datasheet.

Hello I was able to make it work ... the problem was that I was using a wrong Buad rate with the Sabertooth 2x50Amp.
And the UART that It was in the example if I'm not wrong it was used also with the GPS and there was a conflict ...

But it works ... thanks ...
