Solenoids - where can I find?

I need some solenoids, but seems impossible to buy one... I just can't find it.

Where can I find solenoids? What kind of equipment have this?

Hi.

In Brazil we don't have shops like solenoidcity.com, so... I need find something in old equipments.

I need one for a small cd changer project. I need to push/pull a small piece to force a pick to 'capture' one CD.

Any better sugestion is welcome.

In fact, I really need a better idea...

I made two versions of a cd changer, but both using stepper motor to pick a CD. It's very heavy and turn unstable all the mechanical system.

Now I'm working on a new version, small and more simple.

just put a mini servo on it and have the arm of the servo turn and push down

Keep in mind that the arm is too small and must do a precise job.

Other, I can't use two motors at the same time (is a project problem). In other words, if I use the left/right movement (rotation motor), I must release the electricity of the pick motor, and it's must still given some 'pressure' on CD (using a coil or something like this).
