Brazil has evidently decided to take a high-tech approach to security for next year’s soccer World Cup with news that the nation’s government has signed a $7.2 million deal with Massachusetts firm iRobot for 30 of its PackBot military robots.

I know the article says that the robot is durable, but wouldn't it seem like waste of both money and capabilities to have the robot trapped beneath hundreds of thousands of riled up fans? It's normally pretty obvious where a fight is happening, I believe that human security guards are both cheaper and more effective. What do you guys think?
