haha lol, i practicly always have my speakers turned on so i hear it too...
when you log in to the forums (or just open up the forum page) and you have a new message it tends to say that...

sadly i don't think it can be turned off unless you turn your speakers off...
i wish i could change it to "mail motherf#*@er" love eurotrip!

Yea it can be turned off, its in your user options somewhere (I'm too lazy to figure it out right now :P).

It'd be nice to have some other robotic like sound, but too lazy to find/make one :P
