Cheap usb programming cable

I'm getting annoyed with serial programmers since most new computers don't have serial ports. http://www.adafruit.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16&products_id=46
And it works with AVR studio. Sounds like it would be perfect for the $50 robot.

I like their leatherman knife build for roboteers

http://www.adafruit.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=36

Would buy one but I want one that strips smaller wire. I want a 24 to 20 or 18 gauge instead of 12 to 20.

Serial ports are still nice to have and will still be around for a while, at least when it comes to microcontrollers.  If portability isn't an issue, a few USB-serial converters could solve this problem of newer computers http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/103-4140580-0595811?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=usb-serial&x=0&y=0

some USB to serial converters don't work with serial programmers.

anything thinner then 18 ga you can easily strip with your teeth, and then spit the sheilding at the person nearest to you :p

I have that! :D
I have the leatherman squirt E4, and gauge 20 is fine enough.
I've never had a wire that was too small to strip with the 20... even wires that are 24 will strip easily.

what about our senior citizen robot builders and their dentures? I'm sure there is some retirement community with a very active robotics group :)
