The positive side of the LED is supposed to connected to pin 7, which is +5V. The negative side of the LED is supposed to be connected to pin 6 so when you set pin 6 to low, 5V flows from pin7, through the resistor, through the LED, and to pin 6, causing the LED to light up, right?
So if one were to bridge pin 8 (gnd) and pin 6, the LED should light up all the time as long as power is connected, right? Well at least for me, it doesn't. I'm assuming there is something wrong with my theory here.
I know that the LED is working, because I desoldered it and tested it. The resistor is in fact 340ohm; I tested it with a multimeter.
