Title: Helping finding a part

Greetings, I just purchased a book on robotics, and I need to assemble a PCB. The PCB requires two 220v 16-pin resistor dual In-Line Packages

I'm having trouble finding a place to purchase them.

I found a website, www.electronicsplus.com

They sell a component described as

"220K OHM 16 PIN DIP (DUAL INLINE PACKAGE) RESISTOR NETWORK-CONSISTS OF 15 INDIVIDUAL RESISTORS ALL BUSSED TO A COMMON PIN (PIN #16)"

Is this what I'm looking for? If so, does this seem like a good retailer?


Does anyone have any sites to recommend?

They are a good retailer.

Resistor packs like what you are looking for are either straight through or bussed to a common pin... can you provide a picture or some other details about the board you are trying to build... without any info, there is no way to know which type you need.

It's the one that comes with the book "123 Robotics Experiments for the Evil Genius" by Myke Predko.

I can't find a picture of it on the internet and that's the only description the book gives concerning the part I need.

can you give me a page number or chapter in that book where it discusses it?

( i have the ebook , though i've never read it   , is it worth reading??? )

220V?!?! Where are you getting that voltage from?!

What current do you expect, or power?

Why 16 pins?

What is your circuit supposed to do? If we know why you need that resistor, we can help you find a better substitute . . .

The PCB's power supply is merely a 9 volt battery, so I think there might have been a typo. Is it possible that the author meant to say 220 ohms?

The PCB is the brain of my robot. It houses a BASIC Stamp 2 chip, a breadboard, a serial programming port, the resistor DIPs and a few other small components.

if its 220 ohm, then the dil package that you found in your original post is probably the one that you need. I'm not aware of any without a common pin.
It is worth noting that you might be able to do it cheaper just by buying 15 x 220ohm resistors if you have room for them

This is apparently a kit containing every component needed for my PCB, including the BASIC Stamp 2, it seems kind of pricey, but I think microcontrollers are supposed to be price. I also wouldnt mind paying a bit extra for the convenience. Does this seem like a worthy buy, or would I be getting ripped off?

the STAMP itself is usually 25 bucks

you are getting slighlty ripped off than buying separately ( but didnt take into account shipping)

if you're willing to spend the money , go ahead

so uhhhhh . . . whats the resistor connected to? we can tell you right away what its for and what value it should be if we know this . . .
