Anyone with experience using an infrared rework station? I'm tired of hot air blowing my SMD's out of place . . . I'll need it for lead-less solder.
It looks easy . . . but don't think I'm willing to pay $1k+ for it . . . looking for opinions . . .

edit: Better yet, this looks easy to make . . . its just an IR heater on a stick, no? Know where I can get an IR heater like this?

That's a really slick system. I paid $400 for a hot air rework station that is very difficult to use, and would have no problem spending $1000 for something like this that actually worked. Where did you find the pricing ?

That's good to know. Just got pricing - a new PDR system as shown in the video costs $4k with the vacuum pickup and $3k without.
