Hello everyone

I am a complete novice to robotics, in fact to electronics too, but it's the application of it to robotics that interests me the most. I am an apprentice welder/fabricator in the UK so I have a hands-on streak and don't learn well "academically", that is to say reams of articles with graphs and mathematical formula may look beautiful to me but they're completely meaningless until AFTER I've made something that inadvertently proves the maths and physics I am about to be taught, if you know what I mean, it's then that the maths makes sense, because I can put an image to the graph or whatever. I have ambitions with robotics, I'll be honest I'm not looking to get into it just as a hobby.
